What have I Learned in Microcomputer Applications?

I have learned a lot from my Microcomputer Applications class. Before the class, I knew the basics of older versions of MSWord, MSExcel and Powerpoint. Now, I have a much more in-depth knowledge of the 2007 version of all three. I have also learned that there are other search engines out there besides Google, and I have learned to do a better job of searching for information on the internet (something I do every day - either for work, school, personal life, or in helping my daughter with her school work).
One very important thing that I learned from this class was how to make a nice, effective flyer. My good friend John Joslyn was diagnosed with advanced appendix cancer in January of this year. I formed a committee with a group of friends from Pawtucketville and we decided to have a fundraiser. I created a flyer using MSWord 2007 that was based on the "Mexico" flyer from one of the homework assignments and we used it for the fundraiser. The fundraiser was held on April 17, and we had over 500 people show up and raised $16,000 for John and his family. I have attached a copy of the flyer. John had an eleven hour Debulking Surgery on Monday May 4, 2009 at Tufts New England Medical Center and the surgery went extremely well! Jeff Winward's Introduction

I am taking Microcomputer Applications at Middlesex Community College. I am majoring in Fire Protection Safety Technology. I am taking this course because it is required to get my degree and I want to learn more about all the different tools that are available on today's computers. I am confident in my current computer skills, but I learn something new every day and I am sure I will learn many new things in this course! I like to learn by reading about something, and then practicing it to reinforce the learning. So far, this course is going very well for me - I have learned several new things - for example, I have never created a blog before! So far, I have liked everything about this course, and I have not found the material too difficult.
